Edit a video, add audio and export

Arrange scenes and timeline clips, add media, music, voiceover and captions, use available AI tools and export a finished video.

Before you start

Open a project from Your videos. Editing requires workspace editor access; viewers get preview only. If Video Studio is missing from the menu, it isn't enabled for the workspace yet. Wait until uploaded media is ready.

A computer opens the hosted editor with a timeline. A phone opens the scene-based storyboard. Instructions below identify the relevant surface instead of assuming the controls are identical.

Arrange visuals

  1. On a phone, choose + Media to select photos and clips. On a computer, use the editor's add-media action and complete the Add-media window.
  2. In Scenes on a phone, select a scene to open Edit scene. Adjust a photo's duration or use Trim with Source start and Source end for a video. Duration controls respect the limits shown for that scene.
  3. Change Scene text and Text style as needed. Choose Transition to the next scene and Transition duration; choices include None, Fade, Slide, Wipe and Zoom.
  4. Reorder scenes by dragging. Keyboard users can press Space to pick up, arrow keys to move and Space to drop; Escape cancels. Use Delete scene only after checking the confirmation.
  5. On a computer, select the timeline clip and put the playhead at the intended cut. Split here, Trim start and Trim end act on the editable clip/playhead selection. Disabled controls mean that selection cannot perform the action; move the playhead or select a suitable clip first.
  6. Play the video to check timing. Phone thumbnails are an alternative when live preview is unsupported; Create a 540p preview is offered as another preview path. Extra layers may require editing on a computer.

Music and voiceover

  1. Open Music. Choose from Music library / Free music, Project audio, Upload audio or Create music where offered.
  2. Preview a track before using it. Follow any Credit required when publishing notice and use Copy credit. For uploaded or recorded audio, confirm that you own the rights or have a commercial-use licence.
  3. For generated music, enter the request or choose an offered mood, review duration and cost, then Generate when available.
  4. Open Voiceover. For Text to speech, enter Voiceover script, choose language and voice, review the displayed cost and generate.
  5. On a phone, Record voice offers Start recording, Stop recording, Use recording and Discard recording. Allow microphone access. A recording can be up to 180 seconds; closing the sheet before adding it discards it. Voiceover starts at the beginning of the video.
  6. Preview the whole video with audio, not just the individual track. Save the changes using the action offered by that editor.

Captions

  1. Open Captions and choose Generate captions. They follow speech in audible timeline clips; caption generation does not use AI credits.
  2. Review Edit caption text, then choose Caption style, Position and Text size as offered. Correct names, numbers and any transcription errors.
  3. Use Apply changes / Save changes as offered. Regenerating captions replaces your existing caption text edits and styling after confirmation. Turn captions off also asks before removing them.

Available AI visuals

Use only AI options enabled for the project. Animate with AI needs a ready photo scene; AI clip creates a new clip from a request. Available choices can include Duration (seconds), Quality and sound. Where multiple tiers are offered, Lite, Standard and Premium are capability-dependent choices, not a promise that every tier is enabled.

Review the cost quote and remaining credits before Generate. Unsupported aspect ratios, missing source media, read-only access or insufficient credits can disable generation. The result is added when ready; check the actual insertion or replacement message on the surface you are using.

Restyle with AI / clip editing marked Soon is not an available action and is not part of this workflow.

Save, export and use the result

  1. Wait for Saved or complete Save changes. Do not leave while the editor reports unsaved changes.
  2. Wait for pending AI clips to finish; they block export.
  3. Choose Export and the offered Resolution. The desktop export dialog offers 720p and 1080p.
  4. Start export and keep the tab open. For device export, keep it in front on a computer or the page open and screen on on a phone. If device export is unsupported or fails, the interface can report a server export instead.
  5. Wait for the finished preview, play it and inspect audio, captions and visuals. An export progress message is not yet a finished file.
  6. Choose Download for the video file. Use in campaign can first save a locally created result to the account; follow any saving/uploading status before continuing. Once stored, the desktop action can read Open new campaign.
  7. Review the campaign draft and publication settings. A valid linked-campaign handoff can return to that campaign; otherwise a new campaign is started. Exporting or handing off does not itself publish.

If something goes wrong

Symptom Recovery
Save failed Changes remain on screen. Use Retry saving before leaving.
Conflicting changes Download my changes before Load latest; the editor cannot safely merge concurrent work.
AI cost unavailable Retry the cost check; do not assume generation is free.
Generation failed Retry or remove the pending item. If retry details are missing, remove it and start a new generation.
Microphone unavailable Allow access or use text-to-speech; unsupported browsers cannot record.
Export failed Ensure media is ready and edits saved, then retry.
Text behind subject blocks export Keep that effect within 20 seconds per video and use Chrome/Edge on desktop or Android, or disable the effect.
Download link unavailable Use Refresh download link where offered. A ready render can exist even when its link cannot be loaded.
