# Edit pages in the site studio

Update sections, text, images and buttons, make AI edits, manage pages and adjust site-wide content and search settings.

## Before you start

Open a site from **My sites**. Editing requires ownership or shared edit access. Use a computer for structure editing; the compact phone editor supports selected content but displays **Structure editing is available on a computer** for structural tools. An old version is read-only until you restore it or return to the current version.

The site route opens the studio. Links to a specific page under `/sites/.../pages/...` open that page in the same studio.

## Edit content manually

1. Choose the page from the page selector. Check the page name and **Page path** so you do not edit the wrong page.
2. Choose **Manual edit**, then select text, an image or a section in the preview. Its relevant editing controls appear.
3. For text, edit **Text**. For a generated custom block, use its **Block content** fields such as **Heading**, text, images and buttons. The fields depend on the block; not every block has the same layout controls.
4. For an image, choose **Replace image**. Select from **Library** or **Upload**, add an **Image description**, then **Choose**. The preview reflects the replacement.
5. For a button, open **Edit button**, set **Button label** and **Button action**, then save. Available actions include **Scroll to a section**, **Lead form**, **Book a meeting**, **Link** and page navigation where offered. External links must use HTTPS; labels must be 1–40 characters.
6. For ordinary sections, review **Section design** and the layout, spacing or alignment options actually offered. Use **Move up**, **Move down**, **Duplicate** or **Delete section** when needed. The opening section stays first. Deleting a section saves an edit that can be recovered from an earlier version.
7. Use the section library or **Insert section here** to add content. Some sections first request media or prerequisites: a booking link, a WhatsApp number, or property-page context. Fill the starter content with real business information before publishing.
8. Check the saved-version feedback. If saving fails, keep the tab open: local edits remain, but they are not confirmed saved on the server.

## Ask AI to change a page

1. Switch to **AI**. If the page is unbuilt, describe it and choose **Build the page** first.
2. Enter **What would you like to change?**. Be specific about the desired wording, appearance or content.
3. For a targeted change, use **Point at a section** and select that section. The chosen context appears above the request. Clear it to request a whole-page change.
4. Optionally use **Add photos**, then **Send**. Wait while AI works; changing page or mode is restricted during the operation.
5. Check the new saved version. A failed AI operation leaves the last version safe. If the standard-layout notice appears, **Try the full design again** requests another attempt; a full design is not guaranteed.

## Shared content and navigation

**Site content** holds **Business details**, **Services**, **Testimonials**, **Team**, **FAQ**, **Prices**, **Projects** and **Articles**. Edit real business details there rather than separately changing each bound section. **Use Site content** binds a supported section to that source; **From Site content: … · Edit** identifies a binding. Removing a content item affects bound pages when those changes are published.

**Header and footer** are shared across pages. Update menu labels, destinations, logo and footer links there. The header allows up to 8 links; the footer up to 12. Changes become public through publication, not merely by opening another page. For full AI designs, header/footer design comes from the home page; edit their text/links or rebuild the home page to redesign them.

## Manage pages and settings

1. Choose **New page**, enter **Page name** and optionally **Brief (optional)**, then **Create page**. A brief asks AI to build the page in the background.
2. Open the page's options to **Rename page**, **Show in menu**, **Hide from menu**, **Duplicate page** or **Delete page** where permitted.
3. A page address uses lowercase English letters, numbers and hyphens. Changing it stops the old address immediately; there is no redirect. Home, listing and privacy-policy pages have additional locks. A page used by ad sets must first be removed as their destination before deletion.
4. Open **Settings** for **Site name**, **Page language**, phone/WhatsApp details and **Search & sharing**. Set **Search title**, **Search description**, **Share image** and **Hide from Google** as needed. A language rewrite requires confirmation and preserves previous versions; follow any restriction shown by the UI.

> **Important:** Renaming an address or deleting a page can break links and ads already using it. Review those destinations first.

## If something goes wrong

| Symptom | Recovery |
|---|---|
| View-only or old-version notice | Ask for edit access, or choose **Back to current version** / **Restore version**. |
| Page changed elsewhere | **Download local JSON** before **Reload server version**. Reloading replaces unsaved local work. |
| AI says the page changed | Review the latest page, then retry the request against it. |
| Daily AI allowance used | Wait for the next daily allowance rather than repeatedly submitting. |
| New page exists but menu update failed | Use **Show in menu** on the created page. |
| New page exists but refresh failed | Reload the tab; do not create the same page again unnecessarily. |
