# Read your notifications

Open the notifications bell, follow an update to its page, and mark notifications as read in the current workspace.

## What the bell shows

The header bell opens notifications for the current workspace. An unread-count badge indicates regular unread notifications; a welcome notice can have its own dot. A notification can contain a link to the relevant page, but not every item needs a destination.

## Before you start

Check your workspace in the switcher. If you are looking for updates from another workspace, switch to it first. Notification delivery preferences are separate from reading the bell; see [Settings](https://docs.lead-knight.com/en/settings/overview/).

## Read and follow an update

1. Choose the bell labelled **Notifications** in the header. A list opens with the newest items first.
1. Read the item and its time. Opening the panel acknowledges unread welcome notices; regular items remain available to open individually.
1. Choose an item. The app marks it read and, if it contains a link, opens the related page.
1. To clear the remaining unread state together, choose **Mark all read**. The list refreshes after the action.
1. Close the panel to return to your current task if you do not want to follow a link.

## Options and limits

**Mark all read** changes the read state; it does not delete the underlying campaign, task or notification event. The bell is not a guarantee that a social-network post was delivered: open the relevant result page to inspect the actual status. A welcome item can include privacy and terms links rather than a work item.

## If something goes wrong

| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| **No notifications yet** | There are no items to show for this workspace; check you are in the intended workspace. |
| **Could not load notifications** | Check your connection and try opening the bell again. Do not assume an empty or failed load means the underlying task succeeded. |
| An item opens but still looks unread | Navigation can succeed even if marking it read fails. Reopen the list and retry the read action. |
| Mark all read does not update | A failed request leaves the read state unchanged; retry after checking connectivity. |
| Email or WhatsApp delivery is not as expected | Review notification preferences in Settings; the bell and external delivery are different surfaces. |

1. The bell in the top bar collects updates for this workspace. A red dot means something new.
2. Click it to open your notifications.
3. The newest ones appear first.
4. Click a notification or its links to go straight to the right place.
5. Press Escape or click outside to close.
