# Change language and light or dark mode

Switch between English and Hebrew and change the app appearance from the header or phone account menu.

Canonical: https://docs.lead-knight.com/en/getting-started/language-and-appearance/

## What this changes

The language control changes the interface between English and Hebrew. Hebrew uses right-to-left layout. The theme control changes the app's light/dark appearance. Neither control translates a post you have written, changes your workspace membership or connects an account.

## Before you start

Open an app page. On a wide screen, look at the header; on a phone or smaller screen, open the account avatar. The language button names the language you will switch to, not the language currently in use.

## On a desktop

1. In the header, choose **עברית** to switch an English interface to Hebrew. The labels change and the layout becomes right-to-left.
1. In Hebrew, choose **English** to return to English. The layout returns to left-to-right.
1. Choose the sun/moon button, named **Theme**, to switch appearance. When dark mode is active it offers the sun icon; when light mode is active it offers the moon icon.

## On a phone

1. Open **Account** using your avatar in the header. Its menu contains personal account actions and the compact-screen preferences.
1. Choose **עברית** or **English** to switch language. Reopen the menu if you also want to change appearance.
1. Choose **Dark mode** or **Light mode**. The action names the mode you will turn on.

## Options and scope

There are two interface languages and light/dark switching in these quick controls. Additional account preferences are described in [Settings](https://docs.lead-knight.com/en/settings/overview/). The edition remains the edition of the current workspace: switching to Hebrew does not change LeadKnight into Nadlanite, or vice versa.

## If something goes wrong

- No separate language or theme buttons: they move into **Account** on smaller screens.
- Can't read the current interface: look for **English** or **עברית**, written in the target language.
- Existing post text stays in its original language: this control changes interface labels, not content. Edit the post separately.
- A feature is still absent after switching language: availability is workspace-specific, not language-specific.
